CONTACT LENSES
If you’re looking for a trusted way to achieve clear vision without the use of glasses, our team at Lake Havasu Family Eyecare is here for you! We have an exceptional range of contact lenses, and our team of experts can help you find the right ones to suit your vision needs or supplement your eyeglasses. And because contacts are only as good as their fit is precise, our doctors ensure they sit comfortably on your eyes for sharp sight and amazing eye health!
CONTACT LENS EXAMS
Contacts require a different prescription than eyeglasses because the corrective lenses sit right on your eyes, as opposed to in front of them. To get this specific prescription and make sure you have the right contacts for your eye health, we perform contact lens exams. Our doctors carefully check for front-of-eye conditions, measure the shape of your eyes, and discuss your goals and lifestyle to determine which kind of contact lenses will keep your eyes and vision in great shape.
CONTACT LENS FITTINGS
Ill-fitting contact lenses not only provide sub-par vision correction, but they can also increase the risk of eye disease and infection. To avoid that hassle and discomfort, we provide personalized contact lens fittings, so you can see the world with comfort, stunning clarity, and healthy eyes. In these fittings, our detail-oriented optometrists size your eyes to a “T” and have you try on several pairs to make sure you leave with the optimal lenses for you.
SPECIALTY CONTACT LENSES
If you have “hard-to-fit” eyes because of certain vision or eye conditions that make wearing traditional contact lenses difficult — or even impossible — our specialty contacts may be the answer. We have several types of specialty lenses that can help you or your child see their best, protect eyes for the long run, and ensure every day is clear.
- Scleral lenses: for those with sensitive corneas or eye conditions like keratoconus, scleral lenses provide clear sight while protecting the eyes. Larger than average contacts, these lenses vault over the front of the eye entirely, and instead rest on the “whites” of the eyes, or sclera. They also create a tear reservoir perfect for dry eye.
- Multifocals: these lenses differ from regular contacts in that they correct for multiple distances in the same lens. This allows for near vision at the bottom of the lens, far vision at the top, and other focuses in between. These are helpful for those with multiple vision errors, including presbyopia (age-related farsightedness).
- Myopia management lenses: we use child-friendly multifocal lenses to help our youngest patients slow the progression of their myopia, or nearsightedness. This management can limit their need for frequent, stronger prescription updates, as well as reduce their risk of serious eye conditions down the road.
